How can I work and study in Turkey?

In particular, foreign students enrolled in a master's or PhD study in Turkey can serve as investigators in science projects related to their work to fund their undergraduate studies. Some private universities also accept full-time students and can offer student assistance in exchange for this course. Can a student work in Turkey?

However, foreign students enrolled in undergraduate or related two-year programs may start working in Turkey only after completing their first year of study. Students enrolled in the two-year program they meet shall not exceed 24 working hours per week.

WORK PERMIT FOR EXTERNAL STUDENTS PERMIT

Article 19 of International Labor Law No. 6735 sets out the details of the granting of a work permit.

• Foreign students enrolled in Turkish degree programs or higher education in Turkey may apply if they have a valid work permit.

• International students studying for a two-year degree or undergraduate program may apply for a work permit after completing their first year. These students can now work part-time according to Labor Law No. 4857 dated 22 May 2003. This restriction, however, does not apply to undergraduate students enrolled in formal education programs.

• These work permits issued to international students will not affect a valid student residence permit.

• Foreign students studying for internships and employers are subject to a work permit law.

• Students studying under the European Union Education and Youth Programs are exempted from the work permit.

• Foreigners exempted from work permits may work or be employed without a work permit.
